REVIEW
One of life’s simple pleasures is finding a book or an audiobook that unexpectedly captures your complete attention, making it impossible to stop listening. YOU NEVER KNOW did that to me. I learned more than I ever thought possible, from Selleck’s childhood to the conclusion of Magnum PI.
The writing was skillfully crafted, containing unforgettable stories, self-deprecating humor, and effortlessly blended backstories. I savored every word. Seleck’s narration was superb. It felt like we were all sitting around a fireplace with a bourbon in hand as he shared his life story. It was humorous, charming, and delightfully entertaining.
My favorite part of the book is when Selleck tells a story about when he was working in London and received free tickets to see the musical Cats in the West End. He was so enamored with the musical and one character, in particular, that he went to see the play another seven times and eventually married the character.
The book just touches on the beginning of the Blue Bloods TV series and then stops. I would have loved for Selleck’s memoir to continue further into this series. Hopefully, he’s writing another book will contain more about this series.
