Confessions on the 7:45

Updated: Sep 21, 2021

Ferociously suspenseful and cleverly layered

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

SUMMARY

Selena Murphy is commuting home on the train when she strikes up a conversation with a beautiful stranger in the next seat. The woman introduces herself as Martha and soon confesses that she’s been stuck in an affair with her boss. Selena, in turn, confesses that she suspects her husband is sleeping with the nanny. When the train arrives at Selena’s station, the two women part ways, presumably never to meet again.

Then the nanny disappears.

As Selena is pulled into the mystery of what happened, and as the fractures in her marriage grow deeper, she begins to wonder, who was Martha really? But she is hardly prepared for what she’ll discover…

“There was no undoing the bad without losing the good. That was the trick of it all.”

REVIEW

CONFESSIONS ON THE 7:45 is a captivating psychological thriller about marriage, family, infidelity and revenge. It’s ferociously suspenseful and cleverly layered.

Best-selling author Lisa Unger takes us on a breathless ride with a story that is impossible to put down. The characters are wonderfully unique and delightfully well-developed. I particularly loved Selena’s emotional awareness, emotional intelligence and emotional strength. Unger has woven such a seamless tale, that you’ll be pondering this one long after the cover is closed.

CONFESSIONS ON THE 7:45 has already been widely recognized by many as one of the best books of 2020. I listened to the audio version of the book and loved the narrator’s performance. I would absolutely love to see this fabulous read made into a major motion picture!

“When we narrate our experience, we take control of it. And in controlling the story of our past, we can create a better future.”
